Travellers have been spotted in Greta Park
Hedge End Town Council are aware of unauthorised encampment and are therefore working with the police and solicitors to sort this issue out. Appropriate statutory legal action is being pursued as a matter of urgency.
Councillor Jerry Hall said “I want something to happen immediately. We need to put up very secure barriers and CCTV cameras to protect the area.”
Hedge End Town Council have said that if anyone has any concerns please contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101. HETC updated their site with:Hedge End Town Council has obtained a court hearing for Tuesday 11 July 2017, when the Town Council expects a warrant to be issued in respect of the unauthorised occupation of Greta Park. This action is in accordance with the statutory legal framework. Cases such as:
Emma-Jane Field "They tried to steal my sons bike in Greta Park last night and were trying to fight him to get it (he's 14) "
Holly Hornby "They are being so disruptive and rude in the village today - I stood up to them after teenagers they thought it was funny to launch and throw toys at customers queuing at the post office one being me and almost hit my baby!!! I'm so cross have no idea how they were even allowed in he first place!!!!"
Jerry Hall "I went to see the park and was assaulted by the scum that some call travellers. My bike was stolen on Monday, police not bothered! A heavy hand is needed. Big, proper, coppers with dogs. I have asked for legal action and fast!"
The travellers have now moved on!
