Heritage Open Days

Listed below our events happening the Southampton and the surrounding area this weekend aswell as the NEW FOREST. (Source:dailyecho)

Old Bowling Green Southampton - Saturday & Sunday 10am - 4pm Members of the World’s Old Bowling Green will play in costume to invite visitors to get to learn the skill on Saturday, before a live friendly bowels game on Sunday. Club archives will also be on show

Royal Victoria Country Park - Saturday/Sunday 10am - 4pm Hourly tours accompanied by talks and a pop-up exhibition that explore the hidden history of the park, once the site of Royal Victoria Hospital.

St Deny's Church  - Friday 12pm - 6pm / Saturday 10:30am - 3pm. The Art of Heritage. Community Arts festival including local artists, craft makers and musicians. 

SS Shieldhall - Saturday & Sunday - 10:30am - 3pm Come aboard the historical steam ship. Visitors have the chance to see the impressive engine room with its original features as well as talking to the captain and crew. Both days visitors can purchase tickets (£20) for a short cruise, from 4pm to 6pm.

Romsey Signal Box - Sunday 12pm - 4pm Visitors can see the outdoor section of the railway track and can be involved in the operating of the box. The visitor centre will also be displaying photos and other exhibitions of railway items. 
NEW FOREST
Cadland Gardens (nr Fawley) Friday 10:30am - 4:30pm Guided tours of Capability Brown’s smallest surviving pleasure garden, with breath-taking views across the Solent.

Hythe Railway Station - Sat/Sun 10am - 4pm Chance to view a new exhibition on the Tristan Islanders, including a projected presentation, photos, maps and historical documents.

Fawley Church - Fri/Sat 10am - 4pm. Open for visitors to explore the exhibition of ecclesiastical robes worn throughout the church years.
